Link a Telegram chat to an agent, and you can ask it for anything it has permission to do from your phone. There is no second app to install and no account to make. It is your bot and your chat, polled by your own computer.
Link a chat
- Open the agent’s Settings (the chat’s ⋮ menu) and, under Communication, press + Connect Telegram.
- The first time, make a bot: message @BotFather in Telegram, send
/newbot, and paste the token it gives you into Bot token, then Connect. - Scan the QR code with your phone, or send the
/linkline shown to your bot. The code works once and lasts ten minutes.
That chat is now bound to one agent, one session and one working folder, all chosen in the app. The chat can’t change them.
Ask for anything it has permission to do
However much work a run takes, you get three messages: nothing for the first four seconds, one status line that edits itself, then the reply in plain text.
Approve what it can’t decide alone
When the agent needs a person, the turn parks and the question appears as buttons in the chat and in the app at the same time. The first answer wins, and every other surface shows how it was resolved.
Good to know
- The computer has to be awake. Localoy holds no power assertion. A computer that sleeps pauses its agents, and a closed lid is a computer asleep. What you send while it is away is delivered when it polls again.
- Only you can drive it. The Telegram account that used the code is the only one it answers. Anyone else is dropped, not answered.
- Telegram is the transport that ships today. Bindings, allowlists and approvals live above the transport, so the next one inherits them.
